About Hazelwood Hockey Rinks Limited

Lace-up the skates, step on the ice and its game on! Skating, playing shinny and having fun at the rink is a cherished tradition that brings Canada to life, and Hazelwood Hockey Rinks is proud to be a part of it. In 1985, our company started its business in Calgary, Alberta, with a couple of goals in mind; build quality products, and inject family fun into communities.
Today, Hazelwood remains true to those early aspirations. We use superior workmanship to build custom outdoor hockey rinks and dasher board systems for community centers or professional indoor arenas. Our board systems are built to last and look terrific. Through the years, we have seen more and more people having fun at our rinks. And that looks great, too.

What is in the name ?
The founder of the Hazelwood Hockey Rinks, John Michael Sullivan, was a proud Canadian, and an avid fan of the great game of hockey. John was born in Hazelwood Castle, in the United Kingdom, during the Second World War. The castle had been converted into a temporary hospital at the time, and that is where the name of the company, Hazelwood, comes from. We have named our dasher board systems JMS, for John's initials, in honor of a true innovator and community builder.
